Rob Hopkins of Transition Towns

Wanted to pass along a video to introduce some of the ideas behind the Transition Towns movement.  Rob Hopkins, the movement's founder, is interviewed.  Enjoy and if you wish, look at additional videos created on YouTube by searching Transition Towns and the resources on the links provided to the right on this site.  You can also see if there is a Transition Town movement being created in your area.  In Northeastern PA, you can contact the Peace and Justice Center located in Wilkes Barre for more information.

Also Feb 16th: Poet & Human Rights Activist in Scranton!

UNIVERSITY of SCRANTON - Poet and human rights activist Carolyn Forché will speak Wednesday, Feb. 16, as part of the University of Scranton's Education for Justice program.


Ms. Forché, the speaker and honorary degree recipient at the university's undergraduate commencement last year, will deliver a lecture titled "The Voice of Witness" about ways in which warfare, imprisonment and other forms of suffering are addressed by writers around the world.


The event will begin at 7 p.m. in the Pearn Auditorium of Brennan Hall. It is free and open to the public.
